As a #writer, is #Facebook useful to me?
Today, a very good friend of mine, in real life as well as in cyberspace, quitted her Facebook account, which she created in 2009. She said to me she no longer had time to keep her page up to date, even to the minimum level that would be of interest to her "friends". And she added: "But of course, the real friends and I keep in touch, by writing - yes!

Someone tried to hack into my old #Facebook account so I popped by to read an announcement that they were using my content for their “#AI”. There does not appear to be any way to switch it off. Also I can no longer edit my advertising preferences. The site is so broken that I wonder if they can even access my content …

@ts-new Ich denke sie spricht schon auch Punkte an, die zutreffen. Kampagnen – auch nicht-kommerzielle – sind im Fediverse schwierig. Vielleicht sollten wir auch darüber nachdenken, im Fediverse vom Benutzer konfigurierbare #Algorithmen anzubieten, die vorsortieren. Denn Algorithmen sind ja nicht per se böse sondern ihr Einsatz zur Manipulation im Dienste des meistzahlenden Werbekunden.
Was sie aber völlig übersieht: #YouTube, #X, #Facebook und wie sie alle heißen wirken sich massiv demokratieschädigend aus. Deren Geschäftsmodell basierend auf verhaltensbasierter Werbung gehört schlicht verboten. Insofern stehen diese Alternativen für mich einfach nicht zur Verfügung. Ich muss mit dem auskommen, was dezentrale Dienste und Kleinanbieter zur Verfügung stellen. Alles andere wäre unverantwortlich.
