Good coverage in this survey of US adult usage of social media.
Pew Research polled >5,000 U.S. adults Feb -June 2025 using address based sampling and contact via web, email, phone. Sampling reflected adult population by gender, race, education, ethnicity etc etc..
YouTube and Facebook remain as the big kahuna's and are the most widely used platforms. Usage of TikTok, WhatsApp and Reddit are growing, with Instagram more or less flat. https://www.pewresearch.org/internet/2025/11/20/americans-social-media-use-2025/

As you might know #Facebook, when it has no 'friends' content, or stuff from your joined groups, will try to populate your timeline with algorithmic stuff. Like, for me, it's pushing scifi, movies, Star Trek, etc from various groups I've never heard of.
That's... fine... I guess.
But late this year I've started noticing that it's been slipping in right-wing content: MAGA nutters, fringe right-wing "news" groups, government agencies (DoJ, White House, etc), Trump itself...
To be clear, Facebook is largely disposable to me at this point, but I note this because it's a change in behavior that could have side effects on other folks who use it (or our loved ones).
