You cannot block Meta's AI without blocking every Firefox user.
Meta, knowing full well that there is a conscious and deliberate effort to block artificial intelligence. Decided to teach their AI to use Firefox and loaded up a bunch of thin micro virtual machines.
It is not just a user string that people need to worry about. And most people aren't going to block the other popular browser on the internet. That is what Mata is counting on.

Meta ha previsto che il 10% delle sue entrate del 2024, circa *16 miliardi di dollari*, proverrà da annunci pubblicitari truffaldini o di prodotti vietati, secondo quanto emerge da alcuni documenti visionati da Reuters.
La volontà di agire con più forza contro le truffe sembrerebbe esserci, ma si teme che una riduzione improvvisa del flusso di entrate derivante da questi annunci possa influire negativamente sulle proiezioni commerciali dell'azienda; e dunque si procederà con moderazione, concentrando gli sforzi in quei paesi in cui si teme un intervento normativo o una sanzione a breve termine.

Well, hell.
For years, I've avoided Facebook. For the myriad of excellent reasons that there are to avoid Facebook.
But there's a YouTuber with a very helpful approach to one of my big problems (massive clutter); and she has a really nice-sounding group on FB, and I wanted to try it.
So I revved up the Protonmail address that I should be using more anyway, got a VPN, and signed up to Facebook under my favorite pseudonym. I was successfully added to the private group and tonight I was just scrolling happily through everybody's posts when- bam! The screen blanked out and first they wanted a captcha to prove I was human. That's fine, no worries.
But now they want a video selfie to confirm my identity, & I'm locked out of the account until I cough it up.
My face on the internet is something I do not do. It's bad enough that I sometimes have to use my government name. I've been stalked, more than once; and have also been the subject of some nasty psychological abuse. (Those things happened long ago and those people are- probably- no longer active threats, but the psychic scars & the gun-shy paranoia remain.)
FB *says* they'll keep the video private and secure, and will delete it in 30 days, or maybe a year- they say different things in different places, which does nothing to inspire confidence. And it's not like they don't have a history of demanding people's personal info & then selling that info to the highest bidder(s).
I really should just delete the FB account; and leave that group I like to braver & less-privacy conscious souls than I.
God damn it all to hell, anyway.

@geist Die "reichweitenstarken" Beiträge in den kommerziellen #Socialmedia Plattformen sind größten Teil auch von #AI Bots erstellt. Irgendwie ist das alles nur noch Selbstzweck. Wenn #Facebook oder #Instagram plötzlich weg wären, dann würde das außer Zuckerberg vermutlich niemand merken.

On avait l̶e̶s̶ ̶n̶a̶z̶i̶l̶l̶o̶n̶s̶ les influenceurs 🙂 qui rappliquaient mécaniquement à (vous) démontrer par A + B que en fait non tout n'est pas pareil que si c'était tout comme ! Et ou pouvait les clasher 🙂
C'était les Algorithmes. En 2025 c'est la grosse poubelle de l'IA
