Even though it is a sad phenomenon of our time that political issues are discussed on late-night shows and by comedians, I wanted to watch it anyway, since he is from the EFF.

After Cory Doctorow humorously explained what everyone knows, his “solution” is a nationalistic, authoritarian, and above all arrogant approach that the US must regulate the internet more, but of course only the dangerous billionaires.

Only the exact opposite is true: we must deregulate and democratize the internet. And why should that happen in the US? That's new right-wing bullshit.

Persoonlijke accounts van #Instagram en #Facebook verwijderd.
Eerder dan #WhatsApp, wat ik niet verwacht had, maar ben er helemaal klaar mee. Ondanks dat ik de contacten die ik er had erg ga missen. Dan maar andere manieren verzinnen om op de hoogte te blijven.

Outside the #Fediverse, 𝕏 alternatives are mostly irrelevant.

Vandaag is het 10 jaar geleden dat ik stopte met smoelenboek. Het koste wat moeite, want ze maakte het toen ook al express heel lastig, maar het lukte en een groot gevoel van opluchting maakte zich meester van mijn hart en hoofd. Dit jubileum word, en deze nieuwe traditie heb ik zelf bedacht, vanavond gevierd met pizza van de pizzaboer om de hoek.
Hoera voor mij!

Im Laufe der nächsten Tage werde ich mein berufliches #Facebook Profil komplett Löschen. Schade um die beihnahe 800 Follower. Aber was haben die für nen Wert, wenn man die sowieso nicht erreicht, ohne teures Werbegeld?! Nö … Herr #Zuckerberg soll mit seinen algorithmen machen was er will. Allerdings ohne Mich! (es gab mal Zeiten, da habe ich knapp 20.000 EUR/Jahr für Facebook Ads ausgegeben. Selber schuld!) #SocialMedia nur noch: #Mastodon und #Fediverse !

Darin wird festgestellt, dass der größte Teil des Energieverbrauchs von #Handys gar nicht beim Gerät anfällt, sondern bei der Übertragung und Speicherung der Daten.

Und diese Daten stammen vor allem von den Apps, über die Ihr in Zukunft mit den Bürger:innen kommunizieren wollt. Ihr tragt dann dazu bei, dass der #Energieverbrauch des #Digitalsektors noch weiter ansteigt.
Wenn Ihr konsequent nachhaltig agieren wollt, müsstet Ihr Euch von #YouTube, #Insta, #LinkedIn, #Facebook und #TikTok trennen, aber nicht von Mastodon.
Prüft Eure Entscheidung bitte nochmal, und bei Bedarf sind die Autor:innen der Studie sicher gerne zu weiteren Auskünften bereit.
