NSW Police post a picture of 6 cops at last year's fireworks. The picture has them lined up with their backs to the camera and they are OBVIOUSLY watching the fireworks.
The post went on about how the cops were going to be keeping people safe this year, and how, in the face of terror attack threats, there were going to be more cops some of which would be armed with semi-automatic weapons (which are artfully only being referred to as "longarms" by politicians).
I mentioned that, considering those police were ostensibly there to keep people safe, maybe they should be watching the crowd instead of the fireworks?
Everyone who has commented has pointed out that there are people in front of the cops (as though there aren't also people beside and behind them), and have asked if they "should just ignore the people in front of them?" (as though you need 6 cops standing in a line facing the same direction to surveil a crowd of people).
The black-and-white thinking, the inability to critically assess a social media post made by someone in authority, the refusal to understand its a staged picture (and then ask what messages the staging is wanting to deliver to the audience)... 😳
We're absolutely and completely fucked.

@SheDrivesMobility Hi, ich suche schon länger eine Alternative für #Facebook, was ich grundsätzlich schon gut finde. Allerdings nerven sie mit Sperrungsdrohungen - zu Unrecht - mit Spm- und Mobbingvorwürfen (für gepostete Fotos einer Stadt), der Werbung und den Algorithmen. DerTon ist rau dort. Ich habs gerne nett. Allerdings ist es dort übersichtlicher. Aber ich sehe mich hier um, hoffe auf nette Kontakte und dass von meinen Fcebookfreunden welche herkommen. Dann würde mich auch interessieren, wie mn hier Gruppen gründet und administriert, ich habe etliche auf Facebook.

Die erste Sache, die ich nicht bedacht habe, ist mir eben selbst aufgefallen:
Wenn man die Themen von oben aus angeht (Plattformwechsel) wird das ganze sehr schnell sehr unübersichtlich.
Wenn man aber das Thema an sich z.B.
#Meta (#Facebook, #Instagram, #Threads) - Alternativen
aufruft, hat man die Dinge beieinander.
Ist das Ganze nun schon eine Totgeburt?
Ihr entscheidet mit eurer Beteiligung.
