Something that continues to surprise me is the quite genuine surprise some other people experience at the news that #facebook #google and the #billionaire run media industry in general have done, do and will do 'very bad things'.
Not saying this to knock the surprised people at all, just vocalising my puzzlement as I wouldn't say I was particularly cynical or sceptical myself, if anything a tad too trusting and prone to giving others rather too much 'benefit of the doubt'.

I am far from the only enby/queer person I know that has been run off FB. Everyone who asks 'what DID YOU DO?', they are still in that bubble, they don't realise how structurally bigoted FB's moderation is
Used to journal on Facebook after John died talking about grief. Months & months of posts about that. That's why it hurt when it was all nuked by FB, booted me out for a random reason.
But it seems to be a trend their moderation is taking cues from a certain regime?
But people happily go on using it, while it slowly becomes a floating trash fire for minority folks....saying 'this is fine'. 'It doesn't affect me, so I'll stay here being comfy' - yet. #pastorniemoeller
That in a microcosm is how we got here in 2026....
