Niche #Drupal developer post, but I have been really happy with the shift to object oriented hooks. It's easier to organize and read, cuts down on repetition, and easier to test.

This feels like it is the final death of the old Drupal way of doing things that I learned with 6 and 7 where we had one massive .module file containing a mountain of procedural code.

The more I learn about the plans for #Drupal CMS - AI shoved into everything, messy React/Tailwind front-end tooling and now telemetry and data collection on unsuspecting users - the more I’m convinced that the DA is just flailing.

Let the enshittification commence!

I believe that large scale telemetry collection like this will be worth its weight in gold for the #Drupal community. 💎

As the article reads, privacy must be at the forefront. I doubt the Drupal community will have it any other way. 🔒✨
