I agree with all these "fads", except #containers yes, #kubernetes is absolute GARBAGE that nobody needs. You can write your own orchestration toolchain pretty easily. But I'm a #docker crackhead and use it A LOT. Blow a machine, docker -d up there ya go. You don't need to painstakingly setup a baremetal system .I hate the #cloud thing, because I'm a Architect, and you pretty much have to have "cloud" in your resume to get noticed. I hate it. An idea that I have only comprehended recently.
If you want good development in #Docker, then you should optimize your containers for development.
Step 1 is making your source code a volume, so you don't have to rebuild everything on changing the code. Sorta obvious, it tends to be done a lot.
Step 2, I think, is making your dependencies' install directory a volume, so you don't need to fully rebuild on adding a dependency.

Had a good evening with music and chat via the Doof, pottering around with some CI builds and container hosting, and fixing @bright_helpings 's laptop which had run out of disk space for some reason.
Finally have a live Django app using gunicorn for the app code and a separate lighttpd container for the static assets.
