Après une petite demi-heure de recherche, je m’auto réponds (c’est pas une discussion de plus avec moi-même qui me fera replonger) :
- #ansible me tente bof. Ça a l’air bien pour tenir des parcs de serveurs à jour - genre avec des commandes d’update agnostiques - mais ça n’a pas l’air plus pratique pour automatiser un déploiement applicatif générique
- Dokku (https://dokku.com/) a l’air ´achement bien ! Support des Procfile et des fichiers de déploiement #heroku et utilisation extensive de #docker
- Caprover (https://caprover.com/) à l’air un chouïa en dessous, mais suite les mêmes idées : déploiements via #docker, interface de contrôle, …
- Coolify (https://coolify.io/) à l’air d’être le plus sexy - chouette business model, one-click installs, PaaS pour le reste.
… j’ai super envie d’essayer ; j’ai juste la flemme de m’y mettre 🤦♀️

Can someone explain to me how #Docker installation isn't just editing .ini files, 2026 version?
Is there some arcane reason such things as the working directory can't be standardised or populated by an install script?
Why do I have to learn an entire new formatting language to manage something every other software package has got down to two clicks or the unholy combination of wget/curl | script | bash?

Gestern habe ich #Jellyfin per #Docker #Container in einer #Debian VM installiert. Die VM wiederum läuft in einem #Proxmox HA-Cluster.
Vorgegangen bin ich nach der offiziellen Anleitung von Jellyfin.
Deren Doku ist echt noch stark verbesserungsfähig. Was ich auch nach längerer Recherche nicht herausfinden konnte: Welche Vor- und Nachteile hat es, die Ordner für Config, Cache, Logs und die Medien als Docker-Volume oder als Bind Mount einzurichten. Und wie man dann später mit diesen Ordnern umgehen sollte (Backup, automatisch aufräumen, Freigeben im Netzwerk, ...).
Was man auf jeden Fall verbessern sollte: Verschiedene Beispiele auflisten, für verschiedene Konfigurationsfälle. Am besten mit Grafiken, über die veranschaulicht wird, wie die Komponenten zusammenhängen.
Naja, ich habe dann auf div. Blogs und Foren noch ein paar Tipps und Tricks für die Konfiguration gefunden und es zum Laufen gebracht. Aber ich weiß jetzt schon, dass das nicht optimal konfiguriert ist und ich das irgendwann alles nochmal aufsetzen muss. Naja, Lernprozess...
Jetzt spiele ich aber erstmal mit Jellyfin herum. Vielleicht mache ich mir irgendwann die Mühe und kontaktiere die Verantwortlichen für die Doku und biete ihnen an, das zu optimieren.
Hat jemand Erfahrung damit? Sind die offen für Mitarbeit?
Meine Erkenntnisse im eigenen Blog (den ich gar nicht habe) zu veröffentlichen, halte ich für wenig hilfreich. Ich bin ein Freund von ordentlicher Doku, die jeder sofort finden kann.

Well it took a whole long weekend of troubleshooting and rebuilding, but once again my #homelab is running smoothly. There were a few factors that combined to degrade things to a point where I just needed to examine my whole network and what was running on my machines.
The root turned out to be a network bridge configured with #systemd-networkd not playing nicely with docker being installed to run a big compilation job.
Once #docker screwed with the network config things spiralled from there.

@polyfloyd that's the idea of #NixOS, which is basically what happens if someone took the ideas of #Flatpak, #Snap and #Docker and consequently made it into the default packaging (#nixpkgs) and deployment (#nixpkg) method for anything beyond the bare minimum OS!
