Working on a multi-vendor service management ( #MVSM ) lab at the moment because #DNS and #DHCP do not always run on dedicated appliances. Sometimes they run on #Windows or #Linux. 🤷♂️
During my ongoing exploration of the #EfficientIP portfolio, I discovered that #SOLIDserver can also be run as a #docker #container. 📦

Ich würde #Docker gerne auf #userns-remap umstellen. Es gibt bereits eine Vielzahl an Containern, die auf dem System laufen.
Ohne es vorher ausprobiert zu haben:
Kann man das im laufenden Betrieb einfach so machen?
Was funktioniert nicht mehr?
Was muss ich beachten, wenn ich das aktiviere? Ich denke bspw. an Verzeichnisberechtigungen bei lokalen Volumes.

Heute bei mir eingetroffen:
#thinclient Dell OptiPlex 3000 TC mit #pentium Silver-Prozessor. 16 GByte RAM und 64 GByte eMMC, integriert. Steckplatz für weitere #ssd vorhanden. Preislich erschwinglich.
Leider mit unpassendem Netzteil geliefert (zu dicker Stecker), aber Ersatz ist auf dem Weg.

My "agnt" tool just became vastly more powerful: It supports agents running in #podman containers (#docker coming later), and the agents can start and stop each other - that is, they can start and stop other #ClaudeCode instances!

If your firewall starts behaving strangely after installing #docker on #opensuse #slowroll, the reason is that firewalld has switched to nft, but docker still uses iptables. You may have to install iptables (the CLI tool) to fix the damage.

Cloud Run meets legacy tech - and the results were complicated. ☁️
I spent last night dockerizing Geneweb 6.08 to run on GCP for @geneee. While I successfully got the service live, the auto-scaling performance and memory handling didn't quite hit the mark, even with Apache in the mix.
It seems this specific legacy version has reached its ceiling. I am pausing here, the search continues.
What is your go-to tech for legacy scaling? 🚀
