Blergh. The Portainer.io rebrand is one of the WORST rebrands I think I have ever seen. Sure, it was bland before, but now it looks like Robolox Discord wannabe neo-hip-trendy.
It doesn't feel like a dependable, mature container management tool anymore, it feels like an in-yo-face game for kids with zero attention span.
It's no longer a comfortable tool to use, it's a product that I'm being assaulted with.

Finally! I can connect #Claude desktop to my #Docker #MCP Gateway over network. Not 100% reliable, but it works!

i've got a couple reasons for that. Firstly, I've found that it's nice being able to cold-boot either the #webserver or the #database independently of the other. I put a lot of #federation traffic on the $5/mo #VPS, more than it's meant to take.
Secondly, I have two #Docker engines already running so I can run a new image every time I feel like experimenting with a novel language or framework, without paying for a new VPS, and without fucking-up the libraries installed for an existing project.
This seems interesting ... I don't have the free space to try it right know .. but I'll add it to my favorites #docker

I've got my subs4social instance running on two VPS instances with two Docker engines
one of them's got the database #postgreSQL running in a Docker container
the other one has a #docker #container with #systemd with everything else (#node, #nginx etc)

Docker images based on Alpine are now available with pandoc 3.8.
Ubuntu images haven't been updated yet, as pandoc-crossref no longer compiles when using the default tools on Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble Numbat). I'm still searching for an acceptable solution for this.
One possible option is to remove pandoc-crossref from the images to avoid being blocked by third-parties.

Running LLMs locally with R and Docker Model Runner 🚀
My fourth tutorial on the Getting Started with #Docker Model Runner series is now available on Medium. This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up and use the DMR server from R to run LLMs locally with the ellmer library.
If you don't have a Medium subscription, the tutorial is available in my newsletter, The AIOps Newsletter, along with other tutorials.
