I am teaching an introduction to #sts on the MA level this fall and did a little anonymous mapping of #ai use at the beginning. Most interesting findings: for almost all of these 20 students AI = #chatgpt. And almost all expected that AI will lead to profound changes in the next decade, with the majority being pessimistic about the direction of these changes.

@hjes Wer sich nur auf #KI / "AI", digitale Sprachmodelle bzw. #Chatbot verlässt, wird m. E. viel früher scheitern. Auf der anderen Seite kenne ich niemand, der / die auch nur ansatzweise in der Lage wäre, alle relevanten Themen eines (Berufs-)Lebens breit und tief genug zu verstehen, als daß man nicht ständig mit der Wissens- und Erfahrungslücke leben (und arbeiten) müsste. Es ist m. M. auch ein Trugschluss, daß vor #chatgpt alle, alles selbst gedacht haben, eher im Gegenteil 😉😁

Es gibt ja immer mehr Anbieter von LLMs, die man als Chatbot nutzen kann. Und diese werden dann auch zur Hintergrundrecherche genutzt. Da wollte ich mal schauen, was das Teil so über mich zu wissen glaubt.
