We've got a word in German, "Selbstbeweihräucherung". If you're wondering what it means, look no further than the current Fediverse posts clapping each other on the shoulder on how much greater than BlueSky the Fediverse is.
If you'd like to figure out how "great" the Fediverse is, go follow what few black people remain.
And perhaps think a bit about why there are so few left.
And stop the Selbstbeweihräucherung. We aren't that great.

An idea I'm sure others have already had: Bluesky users should band together & run a Mastodon (or Misskey, Pleroma, or whatever) instance just for Bluesky users. It'd be just like Bluesky but run by the users themselves. They could even fork Mastodon/Misskey/Pleroma/whatever and make it more Bluesky-like in its features. Surely there are people on Bluesky with the technical chops/means to do this.
In any case, I wish any Bluesky migrants welcome and hope you like it here!

I predicted that eventually there would be a #BlueSky exodus, and now maybe one is happening. I don't think it will be the last. The logic of centralised control means that eventually the interests of the controlling entity will diverge from those of the users.
