I deactivated my Bluesky account today. Too much drama. Too much doomscrolling.
Some of the stuff that was being algorithmically pushed wasn’t good for my mental health.
There were, however, a number of accounts that I couldn’t do without. Accounts with little to no fediverse presence —namely sports and local journalists.
I didn’t want to use a bridge or similar tool.
So, after some research, I settled on @rizzi’s https://reederapp.com/ app to manage these along with my other feeds. It is a beautiful app and works like a charm. I was happy to pay for it.
Everything is nicely organized without all the extraneous unhealthy crap. Now I just have to work on my filters over here…

Wow. Jay at #bluesky was a complete fuckstick.
Wouldn't even acknowledge her customers as customers...
and then censored a post where they made it abundantly clear that they are her product, without which Bluesky would just be shitty code on a shitty server.
Then she started banning people outright, just because they disagreed with her dehumanization of them...
This explains a LOT. Including the latest wave of refugees arriving on #mastodon.
