Weil es eben doch wieder ein #Konzernmedium war, habe ich damals mehrere Einladungen auf #BlueSky freundlich abgelehnt. Ich hatte ja schon #Facebook , #Instagram & #X hinter mir & ahnte, wozu sich auch diese US-kommerzielle Plattform entwickeln würde. Stattdessen entschied ich mich für das #Fediversum inklusive #Mastodon.

One thing #Bluesky could do with improving is the speed of list management. As someone who manages some fairly large (2,000+ members) lists, it is *incredibly* slow. This seems to be due to client-side caching, but the cache seems to be refreshed every time you open a new window. 😣

Tbh I mainly gave up on #Bluesky because I can't get the reach, visibility or level of interactions I get on #mastodon even if I try, I guess once again it's a network based on followers and "clout" instead of hashtags and kind of content. It's a bit sad because most of my friends migrated there and if I had half what I get on Mastodon when I post art I would post it there too, meanwhile it feels like posting for nothing so I give up. Even my posts on #Instagram get more results lol

That WIRED article about Ed Zitron (Apple News+ link and excerpts in next post) is embarrassing for him. He’s both the most famous AI skeptic and a PR shill for AI companies! But the real warning bell for those outside the PR space should’ve been how readily he lapped up pro-Silicon Valley framing outside his AI “beat”—he loved reading Stratechery and really admired #Bluesky.
