Nun habe ich mich auf eurosky. social (=Bluesky) umgesehen, der europäischen »Antwort« auf die BigBro-Plattformen...Und auch dort viele 'tote' Konten, zumindest was Gelsenkirchen anbetrifft. Tja, die Blase ist eben (zu?) klein ... Es gilt also weiterhin, dicke Bretter zu bohren.

If most people were using Apple to make and consume podcasts, they could decide some podcaster was just not going to be able to use their services. And then even if everything was still being done on #RSS and the creator would be able to use another service to make it and people could still use another podcatcher to listen, because most wouldn't do that for one show, Apple would be able limit the reach of the show.
That's basically my concern re #bluesky and speech. The protocol is not enough.

Fun waking up this morning to learn that ATProto is being built with tons of code from AI. "In the past two months Claude has written about 99% of my code," says a Technical advisor at Bluesky.
With how unstable a lot of things have been on the platform lately, this makes a loooot of sense. Wild someone can openly brag about just not doing their job. This leaves me pretty darn corncerned for ATProto's future.

Soyons clairs : le réseau #Bluesky est et reste américain.
Ça ne fonctionne pas comme le #Fediverse, il n’y a pas d'instance Bluesky distincte.
Avec #Eurosky ce ne sont que vos données d’identité qui migrent en Europe. Le réseau #Bsky, sa modération, etc. restent sous contrôle de l’entreprise qui est sous allégeance US.
Mais il faut bien commencer quelque part, et la gestion de l'identité est une première brique fondamentale pour ça.
Ne négligez pas : si on veut sortir du joug américain cela ne pourra se faire que progressivement et par étapes. Si on ne commence pas parce que ça reste encore imparfait et incomplet, il ne faudra pas s'étonner dans quelques années qu’il ne nous restent que des yeux européens pour pleurer...
