There's a pretty new software on the Fediverse, natively integrating the #ActivityPub and the #atproto. It's called #Wafrn : https://wafrn.net/. There's been a good article about it published by Wedistribute : https://wedistribute.org/2025/10/wafrn-chaotic-good/
So, no need to bridge a Fedi account to #BlueSky anymore and anyone can post anything on BlueSky without depending on it. The perfect situation : a good upside to be able to send a message any time while remaining outside and out of reach.

Anyone have experience using #Snac2 for a small activitypub instance? Currently I use #gotosocial which is great but I'm curious about other options. Running a second instance with a different domain for friends or a second account is appealing to me.

@pfefferle My suggestion is to show a quote post as a highlighted #WordPress comment, along with the quoted section. Some blogs like the @verge highlight comments, although I think those are reserved for admins & users.
Another alternative is to have quoted post highlighted in the comments or a #Fediverse icon put next to the profile picture in the comments (maybe a small square toward the right side or have the #ActivityPub symbol appear next to the profile picture in the comments).

Remember how we were talking about how all of #bluesky going down due to a technical problem was bad and proof that they weren't really decentralized? That it proved that the #ActivityPub approach was better.
Well today we have #signal going down cause they are not decentralized and were running on AWS. while the #matrix network is still much too concentrated, it is decentralized and does not have that problem. Encrypted chats used to monitor ICE that the govt can crash are more vulnerable.

Another cool feature of #XMPP are "gateways" that make it relatively easy to connect with other IMs and protocols. So you can have all these contacts in the same app(s).
