El #Fediverso no es un solo lugar, sino un conjunto de miles de comunidades (instancias) interconectadas que hablan entre sí. Es como un mosaico de aldeas que, aunque independientes, se comunican por los mismos caminos.
Esto nos aleja del control centralizado de las grandes tecnológicas y nos devuelve el control sobre nuestros datos y nuestra comunidad. La base es el protocolo #ActivityPub.
Un recordatorio vital de que la comunidad y la autonomía son posibles en la era digital.

When I first started #blogging, I used the most popular #CMS, #Wordpress. If you've read my previous posts, you know I never got along with it—which is why I have my new love, #Hugo 🥰.
I haven't deleted it though; I very occasionally post there.

btw however niche, it would be nice if we had #movim support too (@movim). but that is #xmpp based, which would require a #jabber server, which wouldn't be that bad for users, but afaik there are no messaging bridges/gateways for #atproto and #activitypub. only #bluesky on #matrix. but #xmpp-#matrix exists.

nah, it really doesn't makes sense to live on two different open social platforms separately. #activitypub & #atproto both great, but lacking proper interactions, so really #wafrn it is. hands down. now i'll migrate the follows from all the wanderings i had on those platforms.

I always liked the look of #PieFed but it doesn't have built-in translation yet (so far as I'm aware).
Also, not sure how protected you want your groups to be, but I'm not sure any #activitypub server has truly private chat, but rather messages transmitted in the clear which are marked for the attention only of specific users. I could be wrong of course, would be thrilled to be corrected if so!

Our ActivityPub relay is back online! https://relay.disobey.net has been offline since moving our disobey.net Mastodon instance from Seattle to Amsterdam earlier this year. Sorry!
If you're an admin of a fediverse instance, please join! Like with our other services, this relay is hosted on our own hardware and uses our own IPv6/IPv4 subnets under AS 396507 ^_^
