I thinking of uninstalling the excellent #Wordpress #ActivityPub Plugin and defederating my sites from the #Fediverse. For technical reasons only. CPU goes through the roof when new posts are boosted for the first time, causing 508 errors.
Does anyone else suffer from this problem and have any suggestions to lighten the load?
Maybe I’m overreacting and should just live with the minute or two of daily downtime?
I have Litespeed cache installed.

WordPress, Microposts, ActivityPub und Mastodon
Vor einigen Tagen von ich auf eine andere Mastodon-Instanz umgezogen und im Nachgang ist mir die Idee gekommen, dass es doch schick wäre, wenn man von Wordpress aus direkt dorthin posten könnte. Klar, das ist keine große Kunst mit dem dem JetPack-Plugin von Automatic auch schnell realisiert. Allerdings war ich es irgendwie leid, immer einen "großen Wordpress-Artikel" dafür anzulegen und so bin ich auf das Wordpress-Plugin "Microposts"-Plugin gekommen (Microposts – Microblogging post type), welches eigentlich nur ein Textfeld zur Verfügung stellt und man damit schnell mal was posten kann. Diese Microposts kann man dann auch über einen Shortcode auf die eigene Wordpress-Seite einbinden, was auch sehr nett ist.https://ostermeier.net/2025/12/wordpress-microposts-activitypub-und-mastodon/

The big feature in release v3.2.4 of Ktistec is support for viewing and voting on Mastodon polls (AKA FEP-9967: Polls). This feature took a surprising amount of work. Some of the effort was due to my struggles with visual design, but getting the behavior right was also tricky. For example, a "vote" is just an ActivityPub Note, but unlike other notes, it shouldn't appear in a poll's replies (it could, but that would be redundant and confusing). So I had to add exceptions throughout the code to deal with this. A custom Vote object type would have been nice in the original implementation.

- Added tooltip to notifications menu item summarizing new notifications.

- Improved wrapping of actor panel follow/refresh information. (fixes #130)
- Autocomplete now works correctly when adjacent to a Trix attachment.

Je viens de créer un profil depuis peu, sous #Mastodon, avec le même pseudo.
Et je me rends compte depuis un certain temps, de la quantité d'infos qui ne passe pas entre ces différentes instances (commentaires invisibles, etc)...

Here it is pure #PHP and #MySQL or #MariaDB is needed.
Shared Hosting is sufficient here, but installation is still needed to be done manually. No type of installer yet. No container.
No public repo yet.
Base of my stuff is my own code library or framework (whatever you want to call it), that was never designed to run for other people except myself. So still a longer way to achieve a deployable product usable by others.
But i operate multiple instances using my #Fediverse server on a daily basis... and btw. i called it #Mammuthus...
And besides of #ActivityPub (S2S) i also support a more or less #Mastodon compatible #Client #API to allow the usage of apps and clients designed for that one.
But also here still work to be done, e.g. the support of quoted posts.
So, the creation of an own #Fediverse server software may be not the fastest way to get instances up and running... ;-)
