Today, I noticed a sign we've reached a point of inflection in the AI Hype Cycle.
It goes something like this:
(1) Tech companies have been shoving "AI" into everything. Even if new features are the result of improved algorithms or automation, it's often advertised as "AI", and unearned credit is given to GenAI.
(2) Pushback from users against the proliferation of AI has grown in proportion to the descent into Enshittification. "AI" was hyped as something new, fun, whimsical, or it was the source of amusing anecdotes. But we're tired of the AI Slop and can no longer laugh-off each new problem as a "hallucination".
(4) Tech companies are always monitoring user sentiment. I think they've observed dissatisfaction pass a threshold. For a significant proportion of users, "AI" now equates to "bad". Tech companies can see "AI" has gained negative connotations and they need to adapt to this liability.
(5) As a consequence, it's irrelevant whether or not a bug or reduction in quality (such as Google adding ugly image artifacts to YouTube Shorts) has GenAI as its root cause. Either way, Tech companies now need to defend their use of AI and are quick to tell users "It's not AI".

Michael Grosack is now actively censoring progressives on YouTube, inventing false reasons (without evidence) to silence much-needed voices. I know this because this tyrant deleted 17,000 videos of mine -- many containing invaluable literary and cultural history -- with the push of a button and without providing a reason.

#YouTube の最大音量が小さくないか？
アップロードした時に大きすぎる場合は最大音量が強制的に減らされるみたいなんだけど、減らされた状態で音量が小さい。減らしすぎ。
アップロードした時点で最大音利用が小さすぎて100%にしても小さい動画があって、もっと音量を上げてアップロードすれば良いと思っていたのだけど、原因はそれだけじゃないのかもしれない。
