I'm a lot newer to the WP platform. I would suggest that if I didn't already have experience in web coding/design, I would have struggled. Personally, I think themes are part of the problem. Unless you are going with the built in ones, the others can be confusing to use and getting them to work properly can be tricky. Many asking you to purchase it, but when the free flavour is already troublesome, why would you spend money on it? Also, having two different editors creates a poor exp.

Von 4 MB RAM zu 8.4.15
Ich bin Jahrgang 1980. Meine ersten Schritte in der digitalen Welt machte ich auf einem 386er mit 4 MB RAM und einer 80-MB-Festplatte. Megabyte.
Heute (2026) habe ich meine #WordPress-Website aktualisiert. Mit einem iPhone. Also mit dem Finger. PHP hochgezogen auf Version 8.4.15, Copyright-Jahreszahl im Footer angepasst. Kein Piepen, kein Jumper umstecken, kein leises Gebet an die Götter der AUTOEXEC.BAT. Einfach streichen & tippen, speichern. Fertig.
Früher bedeutete ein Versionssprung neue Disketten, neue Probleme. Heute bedeutet er: Aufwachen, Erinnerung lesen und „Ach ja, das sollte man mal machen.“ Und während früher ein Rechner den Schreibtisch füllte, reicht heute ein kleines Glasdisplay (im Bett), das kleiner ist als mein damaliges Handbuch zu MS-DOS.
Fortschritt fühlt sich manchmal an wie Magie. Und manchmal einfach nur wie ein leicht surrealer Moment, in dem man merkt: Man ist älter geworden – aber die Technologie ist schneller besser geworden.
