I've realized that I really don't have the patience to fight with existing static site generator config, let alone roll my own themes. My personal site is gonna roll ClassicPress because it's great at Indie Web without being directly owned by Automattic.

I think #ghost and #wordpress are doing that. to pay creators, I think we need a protocol and then an autopay system based on a monthly amount we are willing to give, distributed based on time with a creator's works.

#Gutenberg Gotchas... added one more:
Disabling redundant core blocks is not possible because:
* with PHP is not allowed through allowed_blocks_type_all because *core blocks*;
* with CSS (display: none; and hooking on admin_init) because the only possible selector for a block is a randomly-generated ID via JS at page load.

Am Morgen des 28. Februar 1944 macht sich Maurits Cornelius Escher von Baarn aus auf den Weg nach Amsterdam, um seinem alten Lehrer Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita in diesem kalten Hungerwinter ein paar Äpfel zu bringen. Doch die Tür in der Linnaeuskade steht offen, das Haus ist verwaist, die Fenster im ersten Stock sind zerbrochen, der Wind pfeift durch das verwüstete Atelier, das Inventar und hunderte Zeichnungen sind wild durcheinander auf dem Boden verstreut. Unter der Treppe am Eingang liegt eine Radierung – die Karikatur zweier lästernder Frauen –, auf der ein deutscher Soldatenstiefel einen Abdruck hinterlassen hat. Escher ist schockiert. Er klopft bei den Nachbarn. Die sagen: »Haben Sie das denn noch nicht gehört? Die De Mesquitas wurden abgeholt«. (Eschers Lehrer)

Not even counting those long seconds that list of images to select from finally loads! I mean basic caching is not something that developers of WP understand unfortunately.
Everybody rational: this task will be repeated often, so let's aggressively cache this list.
Wordpress developers (or sadists?): 10 images to insert, each time we will make users wait seconds to load the same list of images over and over. Yah!

UI / UX of adding image to Wordpress post is tragic. At least 4️⃣ clicks required to actually place image!
One click to add a block. Second click to select *image block*. Another click to choose media library, and finally another click to choose an image! Four clicks for such basic and often-needed functionality. #wordpress #WP #ux #ui #design #fail
