TIL: If you have a #GravityForm on a #WordPress page, and that form has an image upload field, you may need to disable server caching on the page where that form is in order for the image upload feature to work correctly and consistently when uploading images directly from a phone.

Certo che, caspita... devo proprio dire che, più passa il tempo e più, ogni volta che mi serve avere qualcosa di particolare sul web per pubblicare contenuti, ma che abbia già una struttura che fornisca una buona base per gestire quei fottuti contenuti — che in realtà vanno creati al momento o via via, non necessariamente importati dalla collezione di file Markdown impolverati rubati magari dal server del cugino — e contemporaneamente sia già pieno di soluzioni già pronte per le più minime necessità, tra cui i temi bellini certamente, ma anche roba di funzionalità, e però allo stesso tempo ancora assolutamente estendibile oltre ogni stupido pericolo di esplosione...
Incredibilmente, in qualche modo, ancora non si trova una risposta perfetta che non sia WordPress!!! 🤯
Lo dovevo forse dire l'altro ieri questo, ma ehh, sono troppo autoevaporante per non farmi sfuggire cose di questo tipo, che quindi inevitabilmente finisco per scriverle la sera tardissimo come ora, anziché dormire... 🥴
Ma questo è perché, sviluppando il mio nuovo plugin per i miei scopi ipersegreti in questi giorni, non posso non riconoscere questa cosa, e goderne ampiamente... quanto è buono avere di base un CMS che comunque, gli si può dire qualsiasi cosa, ma funziona!!! Non come i generatori di siti statici vari, dove in base al tema che si usa e magari alle dipendenze che si tira è una lotteria... o quella roba moderna in JavaScript che a me intrigherebbe pure, ma mi fa venire il mal di testa... 🥰
Ragazzi, sono veramente euforica ora... o, forse, ancora una volta, è la deprivazione del sonno che mi fa questo effetto, non lo so... ma beh, anche se dovrei decisamente dormire, pure perché ormai la mia energia di programmazione per oggi si è esaurita (...pur non avendo fatto un granché), è stupefacente come non solo io riesca ancora a scrivere senza commettere errori di ortografia e battitura (...spero), ma a riconoscere ed onorare l'incredibile magia di WordPress nel passare dentro e fuori dal lavoro e dal testing con esso... 🙏
Viva, viva #WordPress, sperando di finire quello che sto cercando di fare per una buona volta!!!

I have reviewed a lot of WordPress map things
I have found three solid standards-compliant plugins for geotagging posts.
I have yet to find a standards-compliant plugin that makes a nice map of all the geotagged posts using open mapping API.
Please send suggestions.

FYI: Standards complient WP geo meta data
This is the post_meta table entries for this test post. The metadata was generated by the IndieWeb-recommended plugin Simple Location. Simple Location is not without its problems. It throws an error when trying to do a lookup, so the long/lat data is any old nonsense I happened to type in.
If I can figure out how/why the problem happens, that’s an entire plugin I don’t have to write.

Currently testing the #Wordpress app for #Android, looking for a self-hosted way to share some of my photography while on the go:
When uploading media while creating a new post, adding alt text is not possible.
Editing the media file afterwards, alt text is not properly saved/updated.
After adding alt text to the media file via the web interface, this alt text is not immediately used in the image as used in the post created in step 1.
This seems harder than it should be. :(

A critical-severity vulnerability in the Advanced Custom Fields: Extended (ACF Extended) plugin for WordPress can be exploited remotely by unauthenticated attackers to obtain administrative permissions.
ACF Extended, currently active on 100,000 websites, is a specialized plugin that extends the capabilities of the Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin with features for developers and advanced site builders.
Unauthenticated privilege escalation to get admin is about as bad as it gets. Though, it does appear the WordPress blog has to have mapped “role” as a custom field. It’s impossible for anyone other than the blog owner to know if that’s the case. Well, probably spammers and scammers seeking sites to compromise and turn into platforms to exploit might given which ones they successfully turn.
