Schon 1953 mischten sich die USA in die privaten Sachen des Irans ein. Iran hat viel Erdöl, von dem damals vor allem britische Öl-Firmen profitiert haben.
Deswegen verstaatlichte der gewählte Premierminister Mohammad Mossadegh die Ölindustrie. Das heißt die Öl-Firmen gehörten nicht mehr der britischen Regierung, sondern dem iranischen Staat. Durch diese Veränderung hatten die Briten plötzlich weniger Geld in den Taschen. (1/3)
