Same with calling Trump a fascist and the current government fascism.

You're right, but where's your consequences from that? If you think fascism, you surely think of the OG nazis, you know; Hitler and his gang. So what do you think the Germans should have done in 1923? In 1933? In 1943?

Surely you think of organising the underground resistance, smuggling their victims out of the country, attempting a revolution, strikes, sabotage, even assassination attempts on their leaders and attacks on their infrastructure. You idealise those who liberated the camps or who bravely stood in armed clashes against the SA or SS.

But then look at you sitting around in the supposedlx fascist US today. Going to work, voting for the controlled opposition, believing in the application of laws and courts, sitting at home entertaining yourself.

How can you genuinely use the word "fascism" and "concentration camps", let alone "Alligator Auschwitz", if the best thing you can muster in opposition is a peaceful unarmed protest with "clever" and "funny" signs and some social media outrage?

Stop using the word "nazi" for your opponents if you're unwilling to treat them as such and actually do the things you would have wanted the German population to do in the 30s.

This is the US Constitution page @ the Library of Congress

Sections 9 and 10 have been removed

9 includes habeas corpus, the courts' review of unlawful detention & imprisonment

This gov't can't change the Constitution w/ sneaky editing, but it's a new low: constitution.congress.gov/constitution/

Kremlin says US-Russia talks were ‘constructive’

I wonder if progessive Americans actually understand the consequences the words they're using should have.

For example, they keep saying that the USA never fully abolished slavery since it's still legal as a punishment for a crime.
Which is true! I fully agree with that position. That's what the amendment in question says. There is legal slavery in the US, through the prison system.

But why does it end there for you?! How can you loudly state that slavery is alive and well in your own country as a gotcha, and you get all angry about it verbally, but then that's that?

Where's the consequences you pull?

Where's your equivalent to the civil rights anti-slavery riots you idealise? If there's literal slavery going on in your neighbourhood, then surely you want to be part of your own little Underground Railroad, right?

Why do you keep voting for the Democrat party and vilifying third party voters, if the party you vote for supports and has never campaigned against or banned what amounts to - in your own words - slavery?

I just don't get it. You wouldn't have been part of the civil rights movement. You're not one of the good ones. You're literally just performatively shaking your head at slavery and then keep sitting at home, going to work and watching YouTube.
