In the #USA, they are currently discussing bringing back letters of marque for #cybercrime. And before anyone thinks that this might be a good idea, it's not — it wasn't during the age of piracy, and it's not today.
On the contrary, this is actually what got us into this mess. Because that's essentially what #Russia, which is responsible for around 70% of all ransomware, is doing: allowing ransomware gangs to operate undisturbed as long as they don't target Russians.
