Also, with the days getting shorter/colder, tying myself to my desk for longer periods of time for #Twitch #streaming is making me less active. That's not going to be good for my #physical or #mental #health. So, I'm trying to figure out how I can still do some streaming, probably specific to #OpenBSD & #MLVWM implementation tasks (I'd like to squeeze @unna work in there too), but without losing the needed accountability/doubling or tiring myself out too much from being "on". It's a journey! 8/8

I really don't mind #streaming for hours and only having a few people pop in to watch, maybe even chat. Since my #Twitch streams are usually #coworking streams, working #pomodoro cycles, it's really great #ADHD #BodyDoubling for me. It's great accountability, but there's a lot of work I can't show on stream, so is less engaging, harder to keep a consistent schedule with various client meetings & on-sites, plus it's _much_ more draining to be "on" for the camera, despite my newfound comfort. 7/N

Lately, as event coverage for the #podcast has wound down, temperatures in my office have become more manageable (half a small room in the eaves of a tiny house in a small city), and I've finally resolved #fauxstream audio/video desync issues, plus privacy & performance issues on my workstation for my own #Twitch #streams, I've been streaming more regularly. Mostly #retro #Macintosh-themed #coworking streams while listening to #chiptunes, which understandably are of little interest to most. 6/N

Doing my own #Twitch #streaming has helped me become _far_ more comfortable with #podcasting and web meetings. It has also helped me recover and rebuild my brain after severe burnout, severe sleep apnea, a couple COVID infections, and several major life events, mostly through finding interest in development again. It has also helped me greatly with client work as it has given me a tons of real-world experience with live A/V hardware/software solutions. 5/N

During that time, having already done quite a bit of #podcasting, I decided to try #Twitch #streaming myself. First from #macOS with #OBS, then #OpenBSD with @thfr's #fauxstream (#ffmpeg-based). The more I got into the OpenBSD side of this, esp. after a forced downgrade of my workstation to an old laptop, the more I started troubleshooting & patching `fauxstream` and working out privacy & performance solutions. 4/N
