#TikTok has agreed to spin off its US portion to be bought by Oracle (Larry Ellison), Silver Lake (which has been on a spending spree right after buying out Electronic Arts), and MGX (Emirates money).
I’m really ambivalent about this deal. Oracle can now own TikTok’s algorithm, but I don’t know if that’s better or worse for users.
The deal is still pending Chinese government approval.
