tiktok Timeline - FediScanner

I’m watching this mass #TikTok uninstallation with great interest, partially because I’m looking forward to seeing what venture backed app people will flock to next. To be fair, I used to do the very same thing and never really looked into how horrible anything venture backed anything. was until I actually looked into better alternatives based off a crumb that was left on the mainstream platform I happen to use at the time so I don’t know what the correct solution is, but it is fascinating to watch happen over and over again. I wanted better. I just didn’t know where to go or what to try. I did try looking up alternatives, but absolutely none of the alternatives mentioned were anything close to things like the IndieWeb or Mastodon, etc. there are millions of others that are perfectly fine, not happy, but an accepted fine, with the abuse that mainstream tech does to it’s users. As much as I hate mainstream places, there needs to be breadcrumbs left for those that are like me and are looking for something more but don’t know where to look or what to look for until they find it. #Tech #Technology
