I always thought it was odd that everything the #IndieWeb org and #IndieWebSocial guys seemed to advocate for had to do with making it easier for bots to identify you.
Then when they celebrated #Threads adopting rel=me links I knew what their game was.

This is my Grandma's thread chest, one place she stored her spools of sewing thread. I brought it home with me from my Mom's this trip. I just emptied all the spools in a laundry basket (they were in no particular order, much to my surprise) and they still smell like her and her house. I'm very glad to have so many colors to choose from and I'm already using some of it in my latest embroidery project.

When #Threads first came out, I signed in to poke it with a stick. Then you couldn't delete the profile without deleting your full Insta account. At some point this was changed - glad to get rid of that baggage.
I did try using it a little, even today. I said something like "a reactor has been the plan for a moon base" and "the US launched one in the 60s" and someone freaked out and yelled at me and then blocked me, so that was fun.
