Du musst einzeln in die Kanäle rein, um Neues zu lesen. Ganz neue Kanäle können nur durch Verlinkung durch Dritte bekannt werden, es gibt meines Wissens nach keine globalen Hashtags oder sonstige Algorithmen. Kanäle erlauben in der Regel keine Diskussion, womit es nicht mal einen Kommentarbereich direkt unter den Posts gibt. Es ist ein Verlautbarungskanal.
