At a hearing last week, Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL) asked Katherine Dueholm, the principal deputy assistant secretary for the State Department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, what the #US was doing to stop #Cuba’s #MedicalCooperation missions. “We are taking a global push to encourage countries to step out of this program,” Dueholm answered.
Cuba’s international medical cooperation missions have operated in dozens of countries worldwide since the 1960s. They usually provide healthcare for the poorest of the poor in Global South countries. Cuban doctors volunteer to go on these missions, where they are paid many times more than what they make in Cuba.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the end of the Family Reunification Parole (FRP) program for nationals from #Cuba, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti and Honduras last week.
The FRP joins the list of #immigration programs available to Cubans that have been dismantled by the #Trump administration. These include Biden’s CBP One and “humanitarian parole” programs, whose termination put many of the half million Cubans who benefited from them at risk of #deportation.
A partial travel ban on Cubans has been in place since June. Trump also suspended pending citizenship, green card and asylum applications for immigrants from countries “of concern,” including Cuba. More than a thousand Cubans have been deported to the island this year.

I didn't feel like I had much luck with Flare on PMOS. But ever since I tried to build an install of Signal-Desktop, it seems to have improved the usability of it. I can now send messages, etc., on it. I looked at Flare after running into build errors.
It might have be dependencies or package issues, but Flare is working well.
My Telegram app doesn't have a keyboard, but I can use images to message friends 😆
