I sometimes download apps that are full of beautiful SwiftUI animations. I love the craft. But a lot of developers don’t think about or test for what happens when the user has Low Power Mode on.

On Low Power Mode, iOS throttles the CPU and GPU to conserve battery. If your animations are still running at full speed, you’re fighting the system.

Worse, users feel it: janky UI, dropped frames, and an app that feels broken right when they need it.

Believe it or not, I actually shipped a fix related to Pi today (3/14).

Had to pull in the latest commit of this #SwiftUI dependency to fix “ambiguous use of Pi”.

I really miss Bakery by @jordibruin so I found a nice icon composer CLI package and two of my own and Vibe coded (3 hrs) a much simpler version to create placeholder icons for my app that can be edited later in icon composer. If there is interest I will open source. #SwiftUI

I am currently preparing almost 20 new entries for exploreswiftui.com, all about TabView. There are so many mighty modifiers I wish I had discovered a year ago. As usual, all examples are carefully crafted by me so you can quickly grasp what really matters.

People have the choice:

- They can say that dealing with "politics" is a waste of time and they'd rather be productive.
- They can show a genocide victim some empathy and receive answers like this.

At the end of 2026, when people will share their "Spotify Wrapped" again and "reflect back on their year", they can write in their diary that they listened to 52 audiobooks this year at 2x speed.

I will have a folder on my computer with screenshots of messages of love like this one.

No matter whether I'll be 40, 50, 60, 70, or 80 years old and look back on those screenshots, I will feel so much more than any of these "productive" folks who can't remember the plot of a single audiobook they listened to at 2x speed.
