I'm making a seasonal anime guide app, in the open for all to experience and learn from.

Another short stream, but let's consider improving lookups in the invite store.

The March issue of the Nil Coalescing newsletter has been sent out and is now available online. I shared details on my new book "The SwiftUI Way", talk recordings from the iOS conference in Singapore and plans for April: nilcoalescing.com/newsletter/2

I am about to launch the Book Corner @bookcorners app for iOS and I could use some of your feedback before I submit the app to App Store. If you have time and are interested in, you can find the Test Flight version here testflight.apple.com/join/RRWQ

Thanks 🙏

I just shipped my first iOS app to the App Store.

SetListr — search any artist, browse their concert setlists, and create Apple Music playlists so you're ready for the show.

A few things I'm proud of:
- No tracking, no ads, no account required
- All data stays on your device
- Zero third-party SDKs
- Built solo with SwiftUI

Free on iOS: apps.apple.com/app/id6757646271

Out of time, but got a basic configuration set up! Tomorrow night, let's consider a dedicated derived index store that tracks the values we want for faster reads? See you then!

Was venting to a friend about how hard it is to sell a paid-upfront app without a free trial…unless you switch to subscription (which makes no sense for a basic calculator).

Turns out he was part of a small effort to form an Apple dev union—and this was one of their core gripes! I had no idea at the time since I wasn’t an indie dev then.

Eight years later, and this is still not a solved problem.

There's no system BackgroundStyle that abstracts the typical use case of a white box on systemGroupedBackground and a light gray box on a black background in dark mode, right (the way List does it for its rows)? My current solution is a custom ShapeStyle.

I just launched Bank Bonus, an iOS app for tracking bank account sign-up bonuses.

Track requirements like direct deposits and balance holds, manage tiered bonus payouts, group related accounts into combos, and never miss a deadline.

Built with SwiftUI. Free on the App Store: apps.apple.com/app/id6760981983
