Going from SwiftUI + sprinkled AppKit to Appkit + sprinkled SwiftUI has improved the performance of my app so much it's not even funny.

And ironically, some remaining performance annoyances seem happen because Apple started to use SwiftUI to implement some AppKit features under the hood...

Short stream, but let's continue porting old queue and history to lists!

I knew what I didn't want. Now I had to figure out what I actually wanted 🤔

So I wrote it down. The entire feature list of my dream birthday app:

A list of all upcoming birthdays. Reminders for them. A widget for the next one. That's it. Three things 😅

But the details matter. I wanted a global reminder that's set by default for everyone. And the option to set a custom one for specific (1/2)

To power more of my apps I moved everything into my own UIKit Framework. Now powering this beautiful transition of the TabBar into a own screen.

Spent 6 months of evenings building a GPS journey tracker because every app I tried went blank in airplane mode.

Free + one time $4.99 Pro, no subscription ever.

WHEN — today's calendar, sitting quietly in the sidebar.

No app to open. No tabs. Just what's next, at a glance.

Shipped my first indie app to the App Store! 🪁

KiteCalc helps kiteboarders and kitesurfers pick the right gear in seconds. Enter your weight and current conditions and it tells you what kite size to ride, which board to grab, and the effective wind range for your setup — simple, fast, reliable.

It’s a tiny, niche app, but it’s mine and it’s live now: apps.apple.com/app/kitecalc/id
