Not to defend the behaviour this Mr. Tensetti, but I suspect on mainstream social media the "unconstructive criticism" towards the #queer community, immigrants, women, etc. is often unwelcoming, too. (And in fact I suspect that's something of an understatement.)
It would be nice if the Fediverse were above this behaviour, but we're all human in the end, and that does include quite some bastards. #SocialMedia
