Update: Had to re do this post and make edits. #storytelling I left social media as a whole a few years ago. I've seen many changes taking place, that was quite unsettling to me. The unsettling moment of burnout. Burnout is very real & it was time for me to take a seat. Originally social media started for friends & families with it being about mostly a number today. It was about real engagement, real content, with real connections. Back then it was fun and I was able to keep up with what mattered most to me. I'm pretty sure that information *pulses* through the Fediverse. I post things that I know will get some response, but sometimes hours pass with nothing. And then suddenly a whole cluster of responses.
It makes sense; that's what the Fediverse IS, after all. Data being passed from server to server, unlike social media "services" which are centralized and effectively instantaneous.
I guess that means I should change my expectations. Posts or comments might not reach the right readers for quite some time, if ever. But I don't know that I'd consider that a bad thing.
Sorry, just being philosophical!
