I was able to reconnect with #hams from #maryland and people I met at #hamsci, #cedar, #hamvention and #gnuradio conferences. Some folx I haven't seen since the #pandemic! It was good to be out and about. Everyone was cool but no one who was still working wanted their photos shared on #socialmedia because they were concerned about security issues and fear of a #facist planet. About a month ago, I mentioned how I plan to carry on with these three initial options:
- The #Fediverse (The only? true open #SocialMedia platform)
- Signal (For my Messaging & Chatting needs)
- (Potentially) a new blog (= Permanent digital home)
For my daily photoblog, I thought I'd try #Mastodon vs. #Pixelfed. At the same time, I plan to use MT for my microblogging urges. Will I then need a separate identity or can I blend both over here without too much disruption? 🤔

X suspended account of "Iran Military Report" that was sending information about Iran's successful attacks against American bases in the region.
not that I care about X, but it is interesting, it shows they are desperate. No russian accounts has been suspended for sharing data about Ukraine war though.

This article states that an algorithm in social media is not an inherently bad force. It can be tweaked and honed to benefit people. Well, d'oh! Only the tweaking would require a certain set of values that the "tweakers" don't seem to have.

Trying to answer the question "What kind of digital life I'd want from here onwards?" surely is going to be an interesting exercise, giving the current poor state of all things online. Yes, #Enshittification, I'm looking at you!
I've spent the last few days playing catch-up and one thing for sure is that, so far, I know the online places I wouldn't want to return back to.
From there onwards, I guess it's time to explore and figure out what's next!
