Healthy childhoods are a casualty of fear inducing news media.
#SocialMedia companies benefit from children restricted to screens rather than unstructured opportunities to play and interact.
Social norms encourage a form of extreme parenting which insulates children from extremely low probability events- kidnapping etc.
It takes courage to accept insulation from extreme risk might be damaging a child’s development
