French authorities have opened an investigation into the death of a 46-year old man during a live stream on the Kick platform. Raphaël Graven had amassed hundreds of thousands of followers on social media after starring in live video streams during which he was sujected to physical violence, humiliation and sleep deprivation. Before I get shit for writing yet another think piece about quitting social media, I cannot emphasize enough that I didnât. Instead, I painstakingly printed out my social media feeds FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH so I could read them like a newspaper, as god intended.
If I canât scroll, I figured, there must be an end to my mindless consumption, right?

Niemand fordert Medienkompetenz in Schulen. Die haben nicht mal Ahnung, dass Schulen keine Hard- und Software haben, von Kompetenz ganz zu schweigen (von Ausnahmen abgesehen).
Frage mich dann immer, was die von der #cdu denken, dass dann mit dem 16. Geburtstag im Gehirn von Jugendlichen die Medienkompetenzen einfach so freigeschaltet wird und man ihnen dann Social Media ohne Training geben kann? đ«
