Another thing we all can do as individuals is adopt a fediverse-first policy for ALL links we share (depending on relationship, etc.). Want to text someone a news link? Post it in the appropriate Lemmy community first (after reading the rules!) and send the Lemmy link. Same for sharing on the other socials. This can be very situational, as not everyone would react kindly to being directed to some random middle-man, but know your audience and take the opportunity when it comes.

I really wish that when people post screen shots of Trump lies, that they would put a giant X over them to signify that these are lies. It only takes a minute (or less if you're quick) to do using Snip & Sketch. Just a bit longer using GIMP. Both are free programs.
