I find it soooo interesting that Chinese social media is recommending me such interesting English books.

How much do you think folks in China know about life outside China, and the cultural, political events?

More than you think.

The reverse isn't as true. This is probably due to the huge language barrier. Chinese is not an easy language so I am grateful I know two Chinese languages, enabling me to access media that many won't understand.

That said, isn't the title a little confronting?

Yet I have to reflect on my upbringing which most Chinese people can relate too.

Coddling is just not a thing with most Chinese parents. 😅 I was always told from a young age that "life is hard. Deal with it."

Even when we lived in a haunted house, dad was like, "ghost doesn't do anything to you so why you care so much"

But I have grown grateful of this upbringing. I realise I am more resilient today as a result.
