An interesting perspective on the social media minimum age laws and the impact of imperfect policymaking. Pointing to many initiatives platforms have implemented even before the legislative requirements have commenced as evidence that proactive change for the better is already happening. While I agree things are happening, I think more time is needed to tell if those changes are for the better.

Meta, Milliarden & moralischer Bankrott
Meta verdient laut Bericht rund 10 % seines Umsatzes mit Spamwerbung – also Anzeigen für Fake-Shops, Abzockseiten und betrügerische Finanzangebote. Das sind über 13 Milliarden Dollar jährlich, die direkt aus Täuschung stammen.
Mark Zuckerberg, Chef des Konzerns, scheint das nicht zu stören. Im Gegenteil: Die Plattform entfernt solche Anzeigen oft erst spät – wenn überhaupt. Profit schlägt Prinzipien.
Und das passt ins Bild: Zuckerberg pflegt seit Jahren eine strategische Nähe zu Donald Trump, einem Mann, der mehrfach wegen Betrug und anderer Vergehen verurteilt wurde. Meta hat Trumps Accounts wieder freigeschaltet – trotz der Rolle, die er bei der Untergrabung demokratischer Prozesse spielte.
Wenn Big Tech mit Betrügern paktiert und an Desinformation verdient, ist das keine Panne – sondern ein System.
