Before #Reddit became a cesspit, a thing that made me wary about it is the inability to control who sees your post history and how explicitly it optimized for search engines. I'm not naive. I expect Internet culture to get even more rapey, which is why I stay off of #socialmedia for the most part.
It's insane how normalized it has become that you should have access to complete strangers whenever you want because #socialmedia has normalized not considering consent. That's why I post stuff in places I control down to the root level.
