This makes me think that we'll see a growing chasm between centralized social media and those who chose decentralized social media.
I'm not sure we'll ever see the polish and professionalism on decentralized social media that we see centralized platforms, for example PeerTrube channels with dozens of employees and multi-million dollar studios.

Thinking about federated social media and I really hope decentralized social media is the way of the future. We've all seen the problems and toxicity of centralized platforms such as Facebook & X.
But the incentive structure on those platforms is so strong. Creators want to make money and decentralized social media doesn't offer the profit potential of YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok.
