I'm getting closer and closer to finally finishing a massive update I started on my website https://cubingcontests.com back in February. What started as an auth library migration soon ballooned into a complete rewrite of the backend, getting rid of the Nest JS REST API in favor of #React server functions. I'm really happy with the outcome, but I'm never doing such a huge update in one go again (unless I can work on it full-time with multiple devs).

I've been using React professionally for four years now. I get it, it works, I understand its philosophy, I know how to work around its quirks. I just don't *like* it.
The way it cuts against the grain of the web reminds me of ASP.NET Web Forms and their weird "it's almost a desktop app!" abstraction. Sure, it kinda works, but... why not just use something that works *with* the web and not *against* it?
