Tell me, if you have replaced your Raspberry Pi with something else to run pi-esque workloads at home, what have you replaced it with?

(Boosts for reach appreciated!)

Argone ONE UP hits Kickstarter for $330 and up (Raspberry Pi CM5-powered laptop)

The Argon ONE UP is a laptop with a 14 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel IPS LCD display, an aluminum body, backlit keyboard, and one thing that sets it apart from most other laptops: the Argon ONE UP is powered by a removable Raspberry Pi CM5 computer module.

Argon40 has been making Raspberry Pi accessories like cases for years, but this year the company is branching out with its first laptop shell. […]

I have a WiFi network in the house, with an #RPi4 as the router. I got a new #RPi5 recently, but it doesn't connect to that WiFi network (it does connect to a different one, so it's not completely malfunctioning).

Does anyone have an idea what I should try to fix this problem?

I built a #tvheadend server using an OTA antenna hooked up to a Hauppage WinTV dualHD USB TV card which I used with a Radxa Zero mini SBC running Debian. I connected my two TVs running Kodi to the server over the network, using a #raspberrypi with a 500GB nvme as storage for the PVR. I can watch from my phone as well using the dream Player app and a #wireguard connection. Now I'll never miss Matlock!

Passive vs active cooling: 11 degrees C difference in my case.

I put an external fan, activated by HA + gpio, to cool the computer cabinet when the room temperature goes above a certain threshold. It is surprisingly satisfying to see the temperature go up/down when the fan changes state.

So after 32 years of good experience of updating firmware and BIOS on various kit I have updated the BIOS on my own PC. That sense of trepidation of an unexpected failure when the system reboots is still there.
It worked so I installed the new RAM, I now have 32GB.
My PC is 6 years old and fails the Win11 compatibility tests but I have tweaked the install of 23H2 so that it runs. This was done so I could play a game that didn't run on Linux. A game that now will run on Linux and was tested for 5 hours.
Next steps are to wipe the Windows disk and just run Win11 in a VM. Then in a few months change from Linux Mint to Linux Mint Debian Edition 7 when it's released.
Between now and the LMDE7 release I want to rebuild my Raspberry Pi NAS.
