What even is an "extra", #Python?
Is it "part of the package"? Is it just some fluff that can be ignored?
Motivation: what happens when you say "pip install foo[quux]" .. all good if those two things exist, but what if there is no "quux" extra? What if there _was_ a "quux" extra last release, but not this one?

I can't do anything in terminal "No module named 'conda'"
Alias to Anaconda Navigator won't do anything.
Also no uninstall.sh script, so it's going to be a manual uninstall.
I'm thinking of ditching Anaconda Navigator altogether and just nuking it all except my .py files.
Any suggestions for a Python environment on the mac short of doing everything in terminal?

As I was learning a bit of python to build my web site on MacOS (I made a handful of scripts that do various things to generate hundreds of web pages), my son, a scientist, suggested I use #Anaconda Navigator as a python environment. That's been working great for two years now.
Today Anaconda broke after updating to 2.7 and trying to update Spyder, totally broken.

PyCharm isn't a bad IDE for #python, but frankly, since I spend more time thinking than actually writing the code, I use ViM with syntax highlighting, ipython on a terminal to try stuff, and git from the command line, sometimes aided by git gui.
There are quite a few others.

"Movie Theatre" - Day 9 - Advent of Code 2025
Well, things got complicated. On reading part 2 I thought "I don't know how to do that!" 😂
Google'd some options. Tried to flood-fill from the outside which would have worked eventually, but not quickly. Started another algo but even intermediate steps were very complex. Broke down and used Shapely. Took a bit to understand the lib but I finally got there.
