(Post 4/X) – Der Workflow: Von Gadgetbridge zu InfluxDB mit Python-Power
Sobald die Gadgetbridge-ZIPs im Syncthing-Hub (/home/xxxx/garmin_loader/Garmin_Hub/01_Inbox_Import) auf dem Server landen, übernimmt die Magie:
Ein Python-ETL-Skript (garmin_import_final.py), gesteuert per Cronjob, entpackt die ZIPs. Mit fitparse & gpxpy werden die .fit-Daten (inkl. GPS-Koordinaten, HR, Pace) ausgelesen, gefiltert und als Zeitreihen in eine dedizierte garmin_data-Datenbank in meiner zentralen InfluxDB geschrieben. Verarbeitete ZIPs wandern ins Archiv.
Das ist der Kern des datenschutzfreundlichen Workflows!

Oof, my jobs scheduling system is a piece of shit... Was late for work today because of a schedule change, a web page based system and browser caching. So now I need to make a robot to check it for me daily. I'll likely need to hammer out a #python script to do the following:
1. Log into a web portal using three fields
2. Hold onto the session token
3. Scrape the schedule html
4. Check my calendar and:
A. Add new shifts.
B. Check current shifts against my calendar for changes.
C. Make any changes that occur and notify me via a webhook.
My python skills are "wing it" levels so this should be a fun learning experience.

But I am not that nice and kind and I do believe in… publicly crediting people for their work in cases like this 😈:
It was this commit, where this kind of stuff was added for the first time, submitted by a Donald Stufft⟨donald@stufft.io⟩, a software dev in Philadelphia who seems to be a major contributor to Pypi and a bunch of other projects; “crates” is one of the orgs that he lists on his github and who still seems to list Xitter has his main account (@ dstufft).
Maybe it’s time to ask him for what the fuck he was thinking there…
(And before anyone says anything: No, this isn’t doxxing, all of this information is publicly available in the git-history, his github-profile and his own website to which he links from his github. I didn’t even have to throw his name into a search engine!)
