The schedule was recently published for the @pycascades #python conference at pretalx.com/pycascades-2026/sc

No link to it yet from the main conference website, though.

My talk is second last on Sunday afternoon, so I hope people stick around.

Discovered a project that looks very promising: github.com/liketheduck/superno. It uses Apples ocr tools to improve the text conversion of supernote notes. It does it in a way that is pretty transparent, and while not real time, fast enough to be useful I think. I just need to get it working 8-)

from today my custom clock will not count how much % of the day passed from midnight... it's now based when i wake up! and the % will be based on a 16 hours routine (24 - 8 hours of sleep). already got the script on Termux synchronized via Syncthing!

10% of the year has passed and i'm 30 (although my birthday happens on September but who cares)

With news that Discord is moving toward stricter age/ID verification and privacy concerns around this shift, I’m wondering whether Open Source communities like Python and Django should consider alternatives to Discord. 🤔

Platforms like Matrix or Zulip might better respect privacy and freedom of access.

What do you think about a migration away from Discord?
